About Kevin

I was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in May of 1980. I have a 12 year old son, Jakob, who is a true gift from God. My life today is nothing like it used to be. I have been deep in the pits of addiction and lived to tell about it. Now that I am sober, it is time to give back what was so freely given to me. One of the greatest things to happen in my life is coming to the conclusion that…..

1. God is real and the evidence all around us speaks for itself.

2. The only way in the world I can maintain a sober and spiritual life is through Him and his Love.

3. That Jesus Christ is the undeniable Son of God.

4. That because of Jesus Christ, his death, and Resurrection, I will spend an eternity with the God who is giving me a second chance at life.

I started this blog in the hopes that anyone who is struggling with addiction, or knows someone who is struggling with addiction, might be able to find some hope. I have been on top, more than once, only to fall right back into addiction. This disease has affected my life tremendously! Now, I am working my way up, and I want to share some of my experience, and the wisdom I have gained from traveling a dark and disturbing road. From playing sold out shows at Cains Ballroom to sitting under a street light, homeless, trying to find a vein to shoot morphine into… to success and serenity in life. The last 10 years have been wretched, but I am alive, and sober, and willing to help ANYONE stuck in that life find their way out!

  2. Dear Kevin,
My sister is a recovering alcoholic/drug addict. She has been sober over 25 years but during our teens she put the family through 10 years addiction and pain. We often did not know where she was or if she was even alive.

At 26, the doctor told her if she didn’t quit all of it, she would be dead by the age of 30. 9 more months of living in the gutter and she hit bottom. 6 weeks in rehab was the beginning of her new life. More than that was the prayers of my mother who believe God would deliver her youngest child.

My sister became a spokesperson for young girls in the Charlotte area after joining AA. Her testimony helped many in their desire to be free of that disease. Today she is married, with a step son and 2 grand daughters and her own home business.

I tell you this to give you encouragement that you can do this. Your love for God shows in your words. Jesus can give you the steps each day to make. Trust him to do this. Blessings….

So awesome Kevin to see how God works and does amazing things in our lives. He brings us from our deepest lows and if we trust him he will take us out of that pit of despair into a life of joy and abundance. Your life is a miracle and you were able to overcome and still overcoming. I loved what you said about spiritual warfare. Although we can’t speak of it at work I know that Satan goes around looking for anything and everything he can devour. Spiritual warfare is real. Most people ignore it. God gives us the full armor to fight these battles and what is so awesome is we already know the outcome. We know that in the end… We Win. Our prize is not earth. Our prize is heaven and eternity with our Father. I Praise God for you and for your health. God Bless You!
